What Someone Says About ...
"Clean Undies" Boys Briefs

Picture of Boys Brief

This is based on Siew-Peng's exchanges with her son over the first four days that he was given "Clean Undies". So you may feel that this is not entirely objective. We'll let you judge.

Some Background Information
Siew-Peng's young son is very sensitive to touch. From a very young age he started asking for labels in his clothes to be removed. We used to think he was just being a bit more fussy than other children. Recently we realized that this is just him. It comes with his other (dis?)abilities. He wants clothes labels removed not because he is just trying to be annoying, but he does feel the physical irritation more than most children.

His first impression of the brief
It's different. There's an opening in the front. "It's a boxer!" he cried, because his only experience of garments with such openings are boxers that Nanny bought him (incidentally when he last complained about his briefs bothering him). Bemused, he 'practised' using the opening.

How did he get on with it?
On the first day (Friday) back from school with the "Clean Undies":

Siew-Peng: How are the new pants? Any good?

Son: They're fine, they're fine. Had to use them twice. [Grin on his face.]

Why did he say 'use them' when he was wearing them all the time?

How much does he like them?
Son: They are better than the old ordinary pants.

Siew-Peng: Are you sure? Are you just saying it because you think I want to hear that?

Son: No, it's true! They are more comfortable.

Siew-Peng: How are they more comfortable?

Son: Don't know. They just are.

The next day (Saturday)
Son: Mum, am I allowed to use "Clean Undies" today?

Siew-Peng: Of course you are!

He was given a third new pair on Sunday. The first two were washed on Saturday evening.

And the next day (Monday) getting ready to go back to school
Son: Mum, please may I have the "Clean Undies"?

Siew-Peng: Of course, they've been washed.

Fast forward to December 2009:

Son: I'm hoping I'm getting "Clean Undies" this Christmas.

And then on Christmas Day 2009:

Son: Yay! I've got new "Clean Undies"!
