When I got my hands on samples of these fabric (all organic, of course), I knew these would make great hankies. What I did not anticipate was the actual challenges of cutting and sewing them.
Double Gauze (roses motif, left picture) is made up of two different fabrics stitched together at the selvedge and kept in place throughout the width with stab stitches (holes stamped through both fabrics). The fabric has a luxurious feel to it.
The batiste ('Elliott Avenue', picture on right, above) is an ultra-soft and sheer fabric. Like silk, it is very slippy making it immensely difficult to cut, shape and sew. However, the end-result is a super-soft hankie which is delightful to use.
These hankies are strapped together with a strip of brown kraft paper as we do with most of our other hankies.
NB. I have run out of the 'Roses' fabric, and this combination will not be repeated once this stock is gone.
